Festivities filled the air all around in
North India this weekend when 'Janamashtami', Lord Krishna's birthday, was
celebrated with devotion and joy. All Hindu temples came alive with grand
celebrations when the devotees visited the temples late Friday night and waited
for the clocks to strike 12 O' Clock when Krishna is believed to have been
born.
Mathura, the birthplace of Krishna, and Vrindavan, a
village where he grew up, are both known for the magnificent Janamashtami
celebrations and are visited by scores of devotees around this Hindu festival.
The temples are
beautifully decorated and welcome one and all to join in the jubilant
celebrations!
